Challenge: Solar panels were requested for a playground shelter with a transparent roof. Budget for a bespoke structure was not available, and it was felt to be more aesthetically pleasing if the panels could be transparent allowing light into the shelter when children were playing outside.

Solution: We sourced 'off the shelf' glass-glass panels - the first time they have been used in the United Kingdom. The manufacturer of the structure was consulted regarding the retrofit in order to gain maximum output.

Rewards: The panels are performing very well and providing the school with free electricity and creating interest amongst four year old children who ask about every step in the process!
