We’re all in this together.
Heard that before? Well, actually, this time we really are. Solving climate change means working together to make big changes little by little: person by person, house by house, street by street.
In freezy frosty December we worked with Transition Belsize Park in London, talking to their members and then installing panels in the area. Paul from Transition Belsize said:
And we know that for big changes communities are the right places to start.
There are community groups all over the country that are working to make where they live a better place for now and for the future. We are genuinely privileged to be working with them.
Last year we worked with Low Carbon West Oxford in what we believe was the country’s first third-party funded large scale solar installation (please tell us if we’re wrong, we won’t mind!) LCWO raised money to put a 50kw installation on a large west Oxford supermarket giving the supermarket discounted electricity and allowing the group to recycle the Feed in Tariff payment into their next projects.
We have also worked with various Transition Town groups to help them spread the solar message and increase the amount of PV in their area.
Last Autumn, with the sun getting ever lower in the sky, we ran a hugely successful campaign with East Oxford Transition to increase awareness of the Feed in Tariff scheme and increase levels of PV in the area.
We are always very happy to work with community groups to help raise awareness of Feed in Tariffs and solar power and to offer special community prices. Have a look at our community case studies.
